Nigeria shares land borders with Benin to the west, Niger to the north, Chad to the northeast and Cameroon to the east and has a coastline of at least 853 km to the south. These are; the five Nigerian states of Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Kwara and Niger with Benin; the six states of Sokoto, Kebbi, Zamfara, Katsina, Jigawa and Yobe and Borno States with Niger; Borno state with Chad; and the five Nigerian states of Borno, Adamawa, Taraba, Cross River and Akwa`Ibom with Cameroon.
Adamawa State: is in the north-east and shares border with Cameroon.
Akwa Ibom State: south-south state and also shares border with Cameroon.
Benue State: north-central (middle belt) and shares border with Cameroon.
Borno State: north-east state but shares border with 3 countries Cameroon, Niger Republic and Chad
Cross River State: south-south state and shares border with Cameroon
Jigawa State: north-west state and shares border with Niger Republic.
Katsina State: north-west state that shares border with Niger Republic.
Kebbi State: a north-west state and shares border with Niger Republic, Benin Republic
Kwara State: north-central(middle belt) and shares a border with Benin Republic
Lagos State: south-west state and shares a border with Benin Republic
Niger State: a north-central state and shares border with Benin Republic
Ogun State: south-west and shares border with Benin Republic
Oyo State: another south-west state that shares border with the Benin Republic
Sokoto State: north-west and shares border with Niger Republic
Taraba State: north-eastern state and shares border with Cameroon
Yobe State: is a north-eastern state and shares border with Niger Republic
Zamfara State: north-west and shares with Niger Republic.
